PRESS RELEASE 2 JUNE 2000
NHS NATIONWIDE CONSULTATION UNLIKELY TO HELP
PATIENTS IN WORCESTERSHIRE AND SURROUNDING AREAS.
Campaigners and Councillors taking
the damning message of the University College London Report on the
hospital changes in Worcestershire to London on 6 June have been
denied a meeting with Mr Alan Milburn, Secretary of State for Health,
although he will be in the House of Commons answering health
questions.
The message from local people in
North Worcestershire and South Shropshire through the ballot box at
the local elections is loud and clear.
They know that the changes to local
hospital services are not in the best interests of patients in the
whole county and neighbouring areas.
We are told the NHS belongs to the
people! What mockery!
Consultation? What a charade!
Ends.
