It is astonishing that
Worcestershire Royal Hospital has been short-listed for an award as
the 'best hospital in Britain'.
The Sunday Times'
Good Hospital Guide states that the Trust is one of the top 50
best-staffed Trusts in England, but fails to point out that it also
has the highest medical staffing to workload levels for all acute
Trusts in England, due to the ineffective management and flawed re-organisation
plan.
The guide does,
however, state that the Trust fails to see all urgent cancer
referrals within two weeks and that there are delays for substantial
proportions of inpatients and outpatients.
Additionally, it has
recently been announced that the Trust will be unable to treat any
new leukemia patients in the future.
All is certainly not
well with hospital services in Worcestershire and this is especially
the case in Wyre Forest where hospital services are drastically
reduced since the down-grading of Kidderminster Hospital.
