MAYOR'S FLOOD APPEAL

TOTAL AMOUNT RAISED - £18,000 !

Today (Friday 7th December) the first payment of additional monies is being given to the victims of the "flash flooding" of June / July.
The additional money comes form the Red Cross and the people of the Twin Town of Clarkesville (Indiana). Money from our Twin Town of Fort-Mahon-Plage (France) is on its way.

It is marvelous to be able to give these cheques to people as we approach Christmas .. and I hope that it will bring a little cheer to everyone. We must remember that some people are still not back in their homes. Today's cheques are for £177.90

When I started this appeal, I never imagined that so much money would be donated. I was hoping for some two to three thousand pounds to help the victims. How amazed and grateful I am that the total will be some £18,000 !
