Independent Kidderminster Hospital and Health Concern

An in-depth look at the history of the whole campaign ...

12th December 2002

Dr. Richard Taylor opened the
new Learn Direct I.T. Centre at
Stourport-on-Severn, developed
as a joint collaboration between
Thomas Vale
(Construction) and
Kidderminster College.

The centre, a beautifully
converted former public house, is
dual-purpose, being used by
Thomas Vale to train their work-
force as well as being open to
the general public to learn more
about I.T. and to develop further
skills on courses at the centre
and in their own homes (through
the Internet and on-line learning).

Other centres in the Wyre Forest area which Kidderminster College has established are at Kidderminster Library, the Brinton's Carpet Factory, and at the College itself.

Thomas Vale plan to roll-out their training programmes to other firms in the building and construction industries as the centre develops, and make some programmes and courses available to the 700+ companies with which it operates as supplier or contractor, worldwide; thereby ensuring mutual compatability and the standard of delivery of products and projects.
