Brian Clifton, chairman of the Worcestershire Community Health Council,  alerted the public to the threat to the future of other Worcestershire Hospitals.

"We are very concerned about the cottage hospitals at Malvern, Evesham and Pershore."

This statement added to the existing fears that community hospitals in Worcestershire may have to close, as South Worcestershire Primary Care Trust attempts to make £5 million of cuts in order to balance its books.

Mr. Clifton went on to say,

"We are equally concerned about the community hospitals."
