PETITION
You
may care to 'sign' the Petition being promoted by
Swindon Trades Council Union
for the abolition of Prescription Charges throughout the UK
They
have been abolished in Wales; they are being phased-out in Scotland;
and, in N. Ireland, a review has been agreed following a Private
Member's Resolution.
Visit
http://abolishprescriptioncharges.wordpress.com
and have them add you Name and Mail address to this Petition
or contact your H.C. Councillor for a paper mandate
*
The Citizens Advice Bureau believes that as many as 800,000 people do
not take the drugs which they have been prescribed because they cannot
afford the charges .. !
The
Patients Association
(a national charity providing patients with an opportunity to
raise concerns and share experiences of healthcare)
is running a
Questionnaire on Pharmacy Services and Pharmacists
Click
on this link if you wish to take part
They
also operate a Helpline on 0845 608 4455
helpline@patients-association.com
GOVERNMENT DATA CONSULTATION
The pressure-group NO2ID [saying
"No" to the Government's Personal Identification measures]
who will be holding fringe meetings and have stalls at the
(other) Party Conferences, would
draw your attention to 'Consultation on Data Retention Directive'
- the government's consultation on the Electronic Communications Data
Retention (EC Directive) Regulations.
Your responses
regarding these issues (whatever your point-of-view) should be sent to
the government by 31st
October
(by e-mail) to commsdata@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk
or
(by post) to Andrew Knight, Home
Office, 5th Floor, Peel Building, 2 Marsham Street, London, SW1P 4DF.
