Independent Kidderminster Hospital and Health Concern

DR RICHARD TAYLOR

... had retired as a hospital physician when he was elected as an
Independent MP for Wyre Forest in June 2001.

During his term in the House of Commons he has been a member of

  • the Parliamentary Health Select Committee,
  • Vice-Chairman of the Associate Parliamentary Health Group and
  • three separate All-Party groups on Cancer, Floods and Local Hospitals (where his personal experience in each of those fields enabled him to add an authoritative voice to the findings of the group).

In offering himself for re-election as Wyre Forest’s Parliamentary candidate on behalf of Independent Kidderminster Hospital and Health Concern at the General Election on 5 May 2005, Richard Taylor can demonstrate a proven record of representing local people and speaking and voting in the House of Commons without the influence of a party whip.

Throughout his tenure of the Wyre Forest seat for the past four years Richard has tirelessly supported local events and visited many schools and businesses, as well as responding to the concerns of hundreds of constituents raised in correspondence or at regular surgeries, on diverse problems connected with matters such as the Child Support Agency, housing, education, health, social services, the police, agriculture and many other issues.

During the current campaign Richard Taylor hopes you will also support Health Concern County Council candidates so that much needed scrutiny of health, education, transport and other vital issues subject to County Council decisions can be continued by truly independent representatives from Wyre Forest.

Richard Taylor was elected in 2001 following the draconian and unfair downgrading of our hospital. Now that services are beginning to return to the hospital we must keep up the pressure to ensure further improvements.
With the help of your vote the fight for these will continue.
